The Kissing Booth

I have to mention the movie that has well and truly stolen my heart first. The Kissing Booth (a novel by Beth Reekles) may be a ‘cliche’ and ‘cheesy’ movie and people may try to make it a negative when they end up liking it – but who doesn’t love a bit of cheese and a happy, but predictable ending? I’ve watched this movie more times than I can count and will never fall out of love with it – the Romeo and Juliet-esque forbidden romance vibe between Elle and Noah makes my heart burst in to a million fluttering butterflies every time and if you say that you’ve never cried at this movie, you are definitely lying. I cry harder every time and I KNOW exactly what is about to happen – it seriously pulls at my heart strings. What I love about it the most is that Elle and Lee’s friendship is a boy-girl friendship that I’ve always aspired to have and although, I still don’t have a guy best friend which I can banter with and go on dance mats with – these two characters fill up my heart and fill that empty void, and it just makes me so happy! I need my very own Lee!

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

Sticking with the ‘cliche’ and ‘cheesy’ movies, because you know, I’m all about that life! ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ is that romance story that every girl dreams of – I mean, I wouldn’t be against having a fake boyfriend who ended up for real actually falling in love with me. Give me a Peter Kavinsky! TATBILB is a movie adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel with the same name, based on a young girl who writes five love letters to five boys she has been in love with – one including her sisters newly ex-boyfriend – the only way for her to avoid the awkward conversation with her sisters ex was to occupy herself with a ‘boyfriend’ and lucky for her Peter Kavinsky was in the mood to make his ex-girlfriend jealous, and that is the beginning of the cutest love story to happen in a movie in 2018. 100% the most hyped up movie in the social media world right now and trust me – it deserves every single second of attention it’s getting! Plus my sweet angel, Noah Centineo, is also getting the attention he finally deserves!

When We First Met

If anyone has been added to my list of ‘favourite actors’ in 2018, it is most certainly Adam Devine. For some people, pointless comedy with no serious plot just isn’t there thing – but for me, I can’t get enough of it! Its nice to now and again move away from movies that consist of a lot of thinking and also if you’re a softie like me, a lot of crying. When We First Met is about a guy called Noah who is friend-zoned by the girl of his dreams, Avery (Alexandra Daddario). He finds a way to travel back in time multiple times through a photo booth, in order to make everything right and change his methods to make Avery fall in love with him – except it never truly goes right and Noah soon realises that he has been chasing the wrong woman. This is such a light-hearted comedy with a slight focus on romance and will have you laughing with and rooting for Noah to finally get his happy ending.

Game Over, Man!

Another Adam Devine masterpiece – based on three nobodies working in a Los Angeles hotel, who make it their mission to become heroes and take down the gunmen who are holding all guests as hostages, including music sensation, Shaggy. There is absolutely no serious plot to this movie and it will have you laughing non-stop throughout, with a permanent smile on your face. With this movie, you need to be open minded and not offended by everything, as the humour can be quite dark. However, if you are down for a little dark humour and need a good laugh, this is a movie to add to your list!

Alex Strangelove

A perfect coming-of-age, LGBTQ movie that will have you swooning and your heart fluttering. Alex Truelove believes he has it all with his group of friends and his gorgeous girlfriend – until he meets the handsome and charming, Elliott, taking Alex aboard a rollercoaster of a journey in finding his sexual identity. Watching Alex find his sexuality was a heart-warming, but also devastating journey, as he has to let go of somebody he truly loves, because he no longer loves them in the way they deserve – but, besides that, he got his happy ending and support from the people around him. The movie is not too serious and contains some hilarious moments, such as Alex practicing dirty talk on a teddy. Plus with this movie, Netflix have kindly introduced us to Daniel Doheny, who may now be my one true love, so cheers for that babes!

The Package

The Package is one of the most recent Netflix movies to be released, alongside TATBILB. Keeping up the ‘comedy with no plot line’ theme this post seems to have going for it, this is a movie that you will be sat watching and suddenly think “what on earth am I watching right now?”, but trust me on this one guys – it is so worth it! The movie was produced by two legendary comedic actors – Ben Stiller and Adam Devine – and it is based on four teenagers who go on a camping trip during Spring Break and a tragedy happens when one of the three guys happens to chop off his most prized possession and when the wrong cooler is given to the hospital, his friends have to race against time to get the right cooler to them before it’s too late. The plot line for this movie is pretty non-existent, but I tell you now, I have not laughed at a movie so hard in such a long time and even though is it the strangest movie probably ever to be made for Netflix this year, I found it refreshing and I definitely won’t regret watching it.

P.S. My new love, Daniel Doheny, is also in this movie so go hype him up!

I wish I had a Netflix subscription to watch To all the boys… and The Kissing Booth! These two have flooded my twitter timeline from the time they were released!

I am also totally up for comedies with no serious plot-line. I am one of those rare people who hate serious movies and sad songs! ?

I haven’t watched all of these, but I’m always looking for new things to watch. I definitely loved the Kissing Booth and OMG To all the boys I’ve loved before was definitely one of my absolute favorites. Just the cutest! I can’t wait to read the books for both movies. I also really enjoyed Sierra Burgess is a Loser. Seriously, what did we do before there was Netflix? I never want to live without!
