BLOGGING GOALS FOR 2019

Happy New Year everybody! Honestly, I was so glad to see the back of 2018 – it wasn’t the worst, but it also wasn’t the best. So, welcome 2019! 2018 was the year that I relaunched my blog and whilst that was an incredibly exciting time, my heart and soul still wasn’t in it as much as I had hoped, so alas! A new year has arrived, along with a new spark of motivation! I didn’t really know last year – when I launched my blog – the direction I wanted to take it in and still wish I had held off until this year to fully relaunch, however, from relaunching it, I have had the opportunity to experiment and see what I imagine my blog to look like.

I didn’t achieve any big blogging goals last year and I didn’t expect to, however I did achieve two things that I can proudly tell you all! 1) Just being that I finally relaunched my blog and went self-hosted! and 2) I was sent a copy of Roxie Cooper’s new book, ‘The Day We Met’ (review to come)! It’s really exciting for me that after so long of fighting with myself over whether or not I should quit blogging altogether, what do I even want to do with my blog, what topics do I want to cover, etc. I can finally say that I know! And I’m so excited to share it with you all!

I know I’m not going to achieve all the blogging goals that you can possibly achieve within one year, however, I have a handful of goals that I would love to have the opportunity to achieve this year, whether that be once, twice or a huge bunch of times! I can’t wait to look back at this post in a year’s time and see what goals I achieved and to what extent, so without further ado, here are my blogging goals of 2019!

Schedule –

Not having a schedule meant I literally never posted in 2018 and I became really disheartened with the lack of interest I had in my blog. This year, I will be committing to a schedule of posting two days a week – Wednesday’s and Saturday’s. Wednesday’s posts will be book related and Saturday’s posts will be focused on other topics I want to share e.g. life, travel, food, quizzes, goals, beauty, fashion, etc.

There will be times where I don’t stick to my schedule and release a couple of extra posts throughout the weeks, but who’s complaining about that right? It’s better than releasing less posts a week!

Interview Authors –

I have said for so long now that I would absolutely love to interview my favourite authors and I already have an ever-growing list of people that I really need to get in contact with, but my confidence is just blah. This year, I am determined to interview as many of my favourite authors as I possibly can, whether they’re small or big.

I’m going to set myself a goal of five authors to interview this year! Do you think I can do it? We’ll review at the end of the year!

Collab/Communicate With Bloggers –

This has been something I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do and it looks so fun! I can be the absolute worst at communicating with people, but this year I’m going to make it my mission to really interact in the blogging world and hopefully meet bloggers who also want to give this a go.

Let’s aim for three collabs this year with bloggers! Hit me up if you’re interested in getting involved 🙂

Explore Brands –

Whilst collaborating with brands is not my one and only goal regarding blogging, I definitely have to admit that this would be an absolute dream come true and if I can just collab with at least one brand this year, I will be so proud of myself!

What are your blogging goals for 2019? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you achieve all of these and I can’t wait to read your book reviews as I’ve recently not had time to read so hopefully I’ll find a good book that gets me in that habit again!

Oh that would be great if my book reviews convinced you to even read one book I post on the blog! I have so many book reviews coming on some amazing books, so hopefully they catch your eye! x

These are some great goals, I really think having a schedule will help with your motivation! My blog goals are to improve my content, dedicate more time to my photos and to reach out to more brands without being afraid of getting rejected.
I hope you smash your goals!

Thanks, Sophie! Having a schedule has definitely already boosted my confidence and motivation with my blog!

Those are perfect goals – I second the dedicate more time to photos part, because I seriously need to work hard on that as well this year! I hope you smash your goals too! x

I’ve just began my blog at the beginning of this year, I had one previously but didn’t feel motivated either. I finally got a planner and began planning everything in December, it helps so much and I’m really enjoying being back in the community now! I hope you have the best year and enjoy blogging again 🙂

Thanks, Louise! A planner/diary is the best thing you can possibly get for your blog – the motivation just comes out of you when you’ve actually got it all written down! x

Hello there! I wish you all the best with your blogging goals. I actually love how you are not concentrating 100% on the numbers, I think your goals are far more healthier. When it comes to collaborating/guest-posting, I am always up for working together with other bloggers like yourself 🙂 Let me know if you have any ideas in mind.

Thank you, Laura! I’ve never been one to look at numbers, I also believe if I just focus on my blog and love it – the numbers and opportunities will work themselves out!

I’ll think of some ideas and let you know 🙂 x

Hi Shelby, I love your blog style! It’s so clean and organized. My goals are to stop ignoring my blog and to eventually get to the point when people are comfortable commenting… I also wish to collaborate more with other bloggers and lastly I’m hoping to get out to a blogging conference!!

Thank you so much, Kathy – I really appreciate that! I definitely have some work to do on my blog to get it the exact way I want, but a comment like that makes me see that I’m getting there 🙂

Those are great blogs – yes, don’t ignore you’re blog because it could become something amazing! If you have some collab ideas, we should definitely get together and figure something out! I wish you the best on getting to a blog conference, that would be the dream! x
