Happy New Year everybody! Good riddance to 2019 and welcome 2020! A new year has arrived, along with a new spark of motivation! So, here’s to a year filled with success, getting shit done and achieving everything we deserve!
SCHEDULE – So, I kind of really failed at following a schedule in 2019. Life got in the way and I started to lose all motivation. However, after doing Blogmas, and getting back in to a scheduled routine – I’m ready to take on the New Year with a schedule of posting every Wednesday and Saturday (along with some random days here and there). Wednesday’s will focus on books and Saturday will focus on lifestyle. I focused a lot on books last year, and although I’m not at all complaining about that, there’s so much more I want to talk about and share with you all, therefore, it’s the best of both worlds!
INTERVIEW MORE PROFESSIONS – One of my main goals for 2019 was to interview authors and I think I’m allowed to say, I smashed that one completely! With just a few months to go before I get my Journalism qualification, I’m really wanting to aim on interviewing people of other professions as well, like one of my favourite Hallmark actors – how amazing would that be!
FOCUS MORE ON LIFESTYLE POSTS – I love a good ramble and what better way than your blog? I want to focus so much more on Lifestyle posts this year which focus on topics such as; Mental Heath, Travel Diaries, Beauty Reviews, Motivation, Skincare Routine/Tips, Fashion etc. There’s so much I want to talk about and I’m going to be a complete open book this year, if you’ll have me!
WORK ON PHOTOGRAPHY – The reason why my schedule always goes so topsy-turvy is usually down to the fact that I don’t have the time to take photos, or I don’t have the confidence to do so, therefore I am putting a stop to that this year and making photography a big part of my life in 2020. When I’m behind the camera, I want to focus on creating the perfect set up – so if anyone knows of any blog prop subscriptions that exist, or where to get blog props from, please let me know! When in front of the camera, I’m just going to let myself shine and not be so afraid of letting go and having fun. People take photos in public all of the time now. We’re used to it. So, why am I being so hesitant? I suppose it could be down to the fact people still like to judge others, but am I going to let that get to me? Heck, no. My 13 year old brother has agreed to be my photographer, for a fee of course, and I totally don’t mind because he’s going to be helping me make my blog the best it can be!
CONTINUE EXPLORING BRANDS – I worked with two brands last year, which was completely unexpected and both came to me, so I was extremely proud of myself for pulling that off, however, this year I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and make that first initial step as well. This is not a goal that is at the top of my list of goals to reach this year, as I want 2020 to be a year of figuring myself out and my blog – all brand collaborations will be an absolute bonus. I would love to work with make-up/clothing brands this year especially, so I best up my game and get at least one collab in there!
VISIT A BLOGGING EVENT – This one will be the hardest of all my goals to achieve, as I live in Doncaster, most events are quite a journey away, making it harder for me to get involved. However, if I can just get one event in this year and conquer that bit of my anxiety, I will be so happy! If I get personally invited to one, go me!
GROW SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE – This one is a serious MUST this year. I’m pretty chatty on Twitter and interact with anybody and everybody, however, I have a serious love/hate relationship with Instagram. I will working on Instagram so much this year, but I will not give myself a schedule, as I feel like I will stress myself out and grow to hate the app more. I think this year will be the year of discovering what I want my IG to be and just having fun with it.
What are your blogging goals for 2020? Let me know in the comments!
