Wynter’s Trees is the home of Christmas. For the people of Wynmouth it’s where they get their family Christmas tree, and where Christmas truly comes to life.
But for Liza Wynter, it’s a millstone around her neck. It was her father’s pride and joy but now he’s gone, she can’t have anything to do with it. Until her father’s business partner decides to retire and she must go back to handle the transition to his son Ned.
When Liza arrives, she discovers a much-loved business that’s flourishing under Ned’s stewardship. And she’s happy to stay and help for the Christmas season, but then she has other plans. But will the place where she grew up make her change her mind? And can it weave its Christmas cheer around her heart…?
Wow, what a gorgeous read and a beautiful place to be swept up in during the build up to Christmas! It was really exciting to be returning to the seaside town of Wynmouth, this time more along the outskirts and amongst a Winter Wonderland, thanks to Wynter’s Trees.
Wynter’s Tree’s is the one stop destination for all your Christmassy needs – from special and hand-made trinkets being sold in the beach huts, Santa’s Grotto and every type of tree you could possibly ask for to take home and sprinkle all of your festive spirit on. You would be crazy to have not sat through this entire book, feeling the extreme temptation of wanting to visit this magical place yourself!
Liza Wynter, our leading lady, was an absolute pleasure throughout and had a lot to think about, in regards to her future and whether that lied in Wynmouth or elsewhere in the world. Despite her stubbornness and disregards towards her family’s legacy, Liza fit back right in as if she belonged, building lifelong friendships and making her mark on a place she had wanted only to let go of. I really loved her and the creative touches she brought to the place, she has an extremely big heart and it fit perfectly well at the home she had always wanted to escape from. I was happy to see everything fall in place for her, exactly the way it was meant to be.
Ned, our leading man, was a lovely and heart-felt character, well suited to help Liza on her journey of finding her place in the world. He was incredibly passionate towards Wynter’s Trees and did everything in his power to continue the wonderful work Liza’s Dad and his own Dad had created before he joined, even putting his own thoughts and ideas in there, creating something even bigger and better. An absolute dream man, with a stunning husky side-kick, Bandit, to stand beside him!
This is a beautiful festival story with a lovely set of main and side characters, perfect for the colder months approaching and a great reason to whip up a delicious hot chocolate whilst you soak up Liza’s story! Is it still too early to get the Christmas decorations out because Heidi has well and truly kick started my Christmas spirit for the year!
