Happy release week to Nikki LeClair! Her new chick lit
novel, CATS, CHAOS, AND CONDO BOARD WARS, is available
This is my stop on the blog tour organized by The Letterers Collective.
*Thank you to Karan (The Letterers Collective) and Nikki LeClair for the ARC of ‘Cats, Chaos and Condo Board Wars’. This is my honest review.*
Hilary is an accomplished and successful event planner, always keeping involved in the hustle and bustle of the most hottest upcoming events. Her new client Warren, is quite a big deal and Hilary is determined to make his business event a day and night for everyone to remember. Not only is she focusing all of her time on Warren’s event, but she is also on the verge of bagging herself her biggest event yet with a lady who lives in the same building as her. The main mission for Hilary is to keep Warren’s event perfect and bag this new event – nothing can get in her way.
That is, until her room-mate and a handful of neighbours encourage Hilary to go up against their current Condo President – Glover. Glover is most certainly a woman you do not want to get on the bad side of and that is exactly what Hilary does – so, without further ado, let the Condo Wars begin!
Let me start off with the wonderful characters that Nikki incorporated in to the story, alongside her leading lady, Hilary. Everybody was such a great addition to the plot, with their little quirks and even a little background knowledge of each individual’s lives. I have to say, if I found myself living in a Condo, I would most certainly enjoy having the majority of these as neighbours. It would cause for a lot of entertainment. They really had Hilary’s back during her time battling it out for Condo President (although the plot twist at the end hilariously shows that some of them didn’t, but it was for the best) and each contributed in their own ways day in and day out – even though to start with, Hilary really wasn’t on board.
However, the removal of her Grandpa’s cat, being banned from eating Indian take-out food in her own home and not being allowed to purchase her own washer and dryer, crossed the line. The back and fourth revenge scenarios from Hilary and Glover were really fun and creative, with many surprises and plot twists along the way. Her co-worker, Eli, definitely caused for some hilarious entertainment and was a character that is immediately loved – although his pestering side with men, her letters and her choice of clothing, had me wanting to snap along with Hilary!
I have been a reader of Nikki’s books for quite some time now and she truly never does no wrong. She is always able to have you entranced in her stories from start to finish with her unique and quirky story-lines. Her characters are always loveable and a delight to read about and I can honestly say, I am excited more and more for every book she releases. ‘Cats, Chaos and Condo Board Wars’ does exactly everything I’ve just said I love about Nikki’s books and I would highly recommend that you all go and purchase this immediately!
